Safety in the Sun
Children in the Sun
Be especially careful of exposing children to too much sun.
- Young skin is delicate and easily damaged by the sun. All children should be protected from the sun.
- Keep babies under six months out of direct sunlight, especially around midday.
- Older children should be kept out of the direct sunlight between 11am and 3pm. Protect their skin with hats, clothing and total sunblock whenever they are outdoors
- Apply all the advice in the other sections:
NOTE: You can get sunburnt on a cloudy day. 80-85% of solar ultraviolet radiation can pass through cloud. Haze in the atmosphere can even increase your ultraviolet radiation exposure
